From Church Posting
Church apps
Your church's own app in the App Store and Google Play, under its own name and its own icon. It is built from the same code as the member app, the free app any church in Covenant OS gets, and it opens straight to your church with no church picker. This is the paid add-on for a church that wants its own name in the stores, and the member app does the same job for a church that does not.
With the Covenant OS beta, from Tuesday, December 1, 2026
What you get
- Your name and icon in the stores
- The store listing carries your church's name, icon, description and screenshots. A member searches the store for your church and installs your app.
- Every screen of the member app
- Sunday with words for every song, sermon notes, giving, serving, prayer, groups, kids pickup codes, events and messages, all in your church's words and colors, with this Sunday's order, notes and pickup code kept on the phone for when there is no signal.
- Updates with the member app
- When the member app gains something, your app gains it in the same release, because both are built from one set of code.
What the church does
Apple and Google each publish an app under the account of the organization that owns it, so a few steps are the church's own. Covenant OS keeps a checklist of them, shows where each one stands and reminds the person who holds the account.
- Enroll the church in the Apple Developer Program and Google Play. Apple asks an organization for a D-U-N-S number, a free business identifier from Dun and Bradstreet, before it opens an account.
- Invite Church Posting's deployment account into both, so we can submit the builds and answer the store reviewers.
- Approve the app's name, icon and store text, which we draft from your church's profile.
- We build, submit and publish, and we resubmit every church app when the underlying code changes.
What it costs
A church app is a paid add-on to Covenant OS, with a setup fee and a monthly charge. We publish the prices with the Covenant OS prices before the beta ends. If a church stops the add-on, its app keeps working for thirty days and then sends its members to the member app, where their church is waiting.
Start with the beta
Church apps come with the Covenant OS beta on Tuesday, December 1, 2026. Ask for beta access and tell us your church wants its own app, and we will start the checklist with you.
