Church welcome slides

Paste a song, pick a hymn, type a Bible reference or add an announcement, then show it full screen with the arrow keys or a clicker, download PowerPoint, or print a handout. The page keeps working with no internet once it is open.

This Sunday's set

To project the words of a copyrighted song, your church needs its own license, such as a Church Copyright License from CCLI (Christian Copyright Licensing International), or the publisher's permission. CCLI's page says that license lets a church "Project lyrics from a computer or digital device," and it sells streaming as a separate license. The license number prints on the last slide of each song you paste in. The hymns in the library were published in 1930 or earlier and are in the public domain.

Slides, in order

For a newer song, paste the words from the lyric sheet your church has under its license. Put each line of the song on its own line and leave a blank line where a new slide starts. A block longer than the limit above is split evenly across as many slides as it needs.

    More

Covenant OS makes these slides from Sunday's plan, with the songs your church already sings and the keys you sing them in. The beta opens Tuesday, December 1, 2026, and beta churches use it free.

    Running the show on Sunday

Connect the computer to the projector or television, open this page, and drag the browser window onto that screen. Press Start the show and the slides fill the screen. The right arrow, the space bar or a presentation clicker moves to the next slide and the left arrow goes back. B blanks the screen and Escape ends the show.

To see what comes next while the congregation sees the current slide, press Open the operator window before you start, keep that window on the laptop's own screen, and move through the slides from there.

Open the page and load the set before the service. From then on the show needs no internet, so a weak signal in the sanctuary will not stop it. Load each Bible passage while you are still online.

    PowerPoint and the set file

Download PowerPoint saves the same slides you see in the preview as a PowerPoint file, with each line of a song on its own line and the type sized so no line wraps. Download the set file (under More) saves the set itself, to open on the computer in the sanctuary or to start next week's set from.

    Song words and copyright

The hymn library holds hymns whose words were published in 1930 or earlier, which puts them in the public domain in the United States. Each one names the hymnal and year its words were copied from. The words of a newer song are your church's to show under its own license. The CCLI Church Copyright License page lists projecting lyrics as covered and streaming as a separate license, and the license number you enter above prints on each song's last slide.

    Bible passages

Passages come from the Berean Standard Bible, a translation in the public domain. Type a reference such as John 3:16-18, Psalm 23 or 1 Cor 13:4-7, and each verse becomes a slide. A long verse is split across two.
