Holy Forever Chris Tomlin, Jason Ingram, Phil Wickham, Brian Johnson and Jenn Johnson, 2022

Five writers share credit for Holy Forever. They are Chris Tomlin, Phil Wickham, Jason Ingram, and Brian and Jenn Johnson of Bethel Music. Songfacts ties the song to Revelation 5:13, the scene where every creature gives praise to the One on the throne and to the Lamb. Jenn Johnson has described it as a look ahead to worshiping in heaven with believers from every generation, and as an encouraging reminder of the victory Christians have in Christ.

Bethel Music recorded a live version in the Redwoods of Northern California, with Jenn Johnson singing lead. It is the second track on their album Come Up Here. Chris Tomlin released his version in 2022 on the album Always. It came out as a promotional single on September 9, 2022, and became the album's fourth radio single on March 10, 2023. The sources do not say which recording came first.

The song reached number one on Billboard's Hot Christian Songs chart in the week dated October 7, 2023. The climb took 59 weeks, the longest in the history of that chart. Tomlin has said that songs are like arrows from a bow, and that he felt honored to be part of this one. CeCe Winans also recorded a version, and its official video has passed 190 million views on YouTube.
