How Featured jobs work
Featuring is free, and a church earns it. A job gets points for what helps the people applying: a pay range, a complete church profile and quick answers. Featured jobs appear at most once in every 4 results and never above a job that matches a search better, so the best matches still lead. 0 open jobs are Featured today.
The points
| What the church does | Points |
|---|---|
| The church posted the job here, or claimed a job we found | 25 |
| The posting lists a pay range | 20 |
| The church profile has photos | 5 |
| The church profile has service times | 5 |
| The church profile has a statement of faith | 5 |
| The church profile lists staff | 5 |
| The church answers applicants within a day (median time to a first reply, once it has answered at least 5 different applicants) | 15 |
| The church answers applicants within three days | 8 |
| Each person who opens a shared link to the job (one per person, up to 3 a day, 5 in all) | 1 |
| Each church this church invited that then claimed its listing (up to 2) | 5 |
The total halves every 30 days after the posting date, so a fresh job and an old one compete fairly. A job is Featured while its total is 25 or more. Every Featured job says why, in one line, for example:
Featured: this church shares its pay range and answers applicants quickly
What keeps it fair
- A Featured job goes first only among jobs that match a search equally well. It never moves above a better match, and on the board it never moves above a newer job.
- Shares count only when a different person opens the link, signed in or past the spam check, once per person, at most three a day, and never the church’s own visits.
- An invitation counts only after the invited church claims its listing with the address the invitation went to. An address at the inviting church’s own web domain never counts.
- Reply speed counts only replies that reach the applicant by email from the applicant inbox. Moving an applicant to another stage is not a reply. Applicants from the church itself never count, and the points start once a church has answered at least 5 different applicants with profiles older than the job, across two jobs or at least seven days.
- Among Featured jobs that match equally well, churches on a paid Covenant OS plan come first. A plan never makes a job Featured by itself. The job still needs its points.
- Church Posting can switch Featured off for a job that breaks the listing standard or misleads applicants.
