POSITION DESCRIPTION: Preschool Teacher (26-27 school year)

STATUS: Part-time, $/hourly

HOURS: 8:45am to 2:00pm Monday through Friday during Preschool school year. (August-May) (some days vary depending on position)

GENERAL PURPOSE OF POSITION

To be part of a team of educators that are committed to a quality Christian developmentally appropriate program to the children and families in our community.

RESPONSIBILITIES

• Supervise and ensure the safety and well-being of the children at all times.
• Responsible for implementing age-appropriate daily lesson plans.
• Accurate assessment and documentation of children’s learning and development.
• Strong communication skills with other staff and families.
• Work as part of a team.
• Respond to the needs of children and families in a caring and timely manner.
• Maintain current and updated licensing and training requirements.
• Display and teach Christian core values to children, families and others.
• Attend monthly staff meetings, team meeting and educational trainings.

BEHAVIOR STANDARDS

• Perform all work in accordance with governmental laws, State mandates and school and church policies.
• Assure contact with parents, other staff and children will be conducted in a courteous manner and demonstrating concern for the emotional needs of all contacts.
• Guard and protect all information in a confidential manner.
• Conduct all programs and activities within the safety standards and policies of the church and preschool.
• Above all, maintain a heart and attitude for the mission of the Church and Preschool with the children and families.

EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS/WORK EXPERIENCE

• Experience in childcare, teaching, or other related fields.
• 45 DCF hours and staff credential (for Lead VPK teacher)
• Associates or higher in Early Education or related fields preferred
