STUDENT MINISTRIES PASTOR

GENERAL DESCRIPTION

th th We are seeking a passionate and visionary pastor to lead 6to 12grade students in sunny Goodyear, Arizona. We are looking for a leader who has the calling, drive and dedicated passion to make disciples of Jesus by growing and raising up the next generation of Christ followers. We believe that this leader should display Biblical leadership qualities, be able to communicate clearly and effectively to not only the students but the parents as well, be able to successfully lead and manage a team of volunteers and be committed to the spiritual growth of our students and their parents together.

STATUS: Full-time, 45-50 hours/week

RELATIONSHIPS

• Reports to the Lead Pastor
• Participates in all staff meetings

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

Oversee and Lead the Student Ministry

• Set direction and vision for the Student Ministry that supports and aligns with the mission and vision of Compass Church.
• Deliver engaging, Spirit-filled sermons and lessons from the Word of God that are instructive, informative and lead students into a deeper relationship with Jesus.
• Lead the Student Ministry volunteer team by developing and equipping them in their roles. Lead all Student Ministry meetings, looking for ways to keep the team unified. Support the volunteers through regular encouragement and training.
• Lead and coordinate Student Ministry services. Create opportunities for all students to engage in church services, both on Sundays and mid-week. Ensure that all students have the opportunity to engage in safe, fun and age-appropriate environments that include teaching, engaging worship and a small group community.
• Oversee the Youth Ministry calendar and budget, providing direction and being present for special events, as needed.

Partner with Our Community

• Attend the monthly “West Valley Youth Leader Network” lunch.
• Partner with other youth leaders in the “West Valley Youth Leader Network” for events and community engagement.
• Develop and maintain a presence at Desert Edge High School.

Provide Pastoral Care

• Provide care and counseling to kids in times of need.
• Provide care and coaching to parents of students in times of need.
• Provide care, counseling and coaching for your volunteer team in times of need.

EMPLOYEE QUALIFICATIONS

• Growing relationship with Jesus and a deep love for teenagers
• F.A.I.T.H. acronym demonstrated - faithful, available, integrity, teachable, and humble
• Proven experience in youth ministry and spiritual leadership
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills
• Proficient organizational and administrative skills

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

• A degree in Theology, Biblical Studies, Children's Education, or a related field from an accredited institution and/or…
• A Minimum of three to five years of experience in a related ministry or pastoral environment
