Production Director [AVL 2]

Reports to: Vista Campus Production Director
Works closely with: Production Director, Venue Production Directors, Campus staff, and volunteers
Department: Connections - Vista Campus
Weekly Hours: 40 hours/week
Hourly Wage Range: $21-$24/hour
Purpose of Position:
Recruit, train and mentor a team of volunteers to provide technical AVL support for weekend and midweek services at North Coast Church, LIVE Venue. Ensure excellence in audio, video and lighting production, meeting Global AVL standards.

Principle Duties and Responsibilities (Essential Functions):

• Assist the Campus Production Director with volunteer and staff schedules for weekend services and all midweek events.
• Proactively assist in a campus-wide volunteer appreciation program, including encouraging texts, notes, and more.
• Ensure the successful production of weekend services, midweek ministries, and special events through proactive communication with ministry leads and volunteers.
• Oversee and maintain all tech equipment across the venue, ensuring the venue is functional and ready for services.
• Meet with key stakeholders (Worship Leader, Campus Production Director, Pastors, etc.) to create a clear and precise vision of the worship experience, including:
• Audio mix examples
• Decibel levels
• Lighting expectations
• Service flow for each venue
• Effectively lead staff and volunteers in the venue each weekend by creating a fun and welcoming environment while maintaining a high standard of production.
• Run audio, lighting, and video positions in the booth as needed.
• Be the primary tech contact for staff and volunteers and provide troubleshooting assistance as needed for the venue.
• Create processes that can be carried out to keep weekend services consistent from week to week.
• Know the AVL signal chain and cable runs in the venue to help diagnose problems that arise.
• Maintain a basic knowledge of, and continued growth, education, and skill development in audio, lighting, and broadcast systems.
• Provide AVL tech support for global events and services when needed.
• Attend all Tech Team, Campus, and Organizational gatherings, meetings, trainings, etc.
• Perform any other duties needed to help achieve team objectives.
• Represent Jesus, North Coast Church, and the Production Team well.

• Have a flexible and positive attitude.
• Ability to establish and build relationships with ministries and volunteers.

Professional

• 4+ years of experience in technical AVL production. Church background is a plus.
• Ability to handle multiple high-priority tasks simultaneously.
• Highly self-motivated and able to work independently as well as part of a larger team.
• Familiarity with Microsoft 365 and Asana.
• Excellent communication skills and attention to detail.
• Ability to stay calm in high-stress environments.
• Knowledge of troubleshooting audio, video, and lighting systems.

Physical Demands

• Ability to lift 50+ pounds.
• Ability to occasionally commute to and from other campuses as needed.
• A typical schedule will require weekend, evening, and weekday hours.
  Extended hours may be required for holidays (Christmas, Easter, Good Friday),
  special events, and projects.
